Olympus E-5

Olympus E-5

The Olympus E-5 is the latest E-series camera from Olympus. It boasts a 12.3 megapixel Live MOS sensor, a 3.0-inch 920k-dot swiveling LCD, 720p HD movie recording capability, SD and CF slots, in-body image stabilization and a new processor that E-3 owners and Olympus fans will be happy about.

[popeye ids=”3183,3184,3185,3186,3187″]

The Olympus E-5 is a highly capable and rugged imaging tool that can produce high image quality at low sentivitiy settings. And it is built splash-proof and dust-proof to satisfy the most stringent demands of DSLR photography.

While Olympus fans will be glad to know the E-5’s specs and capabitlities, others may be put off by some of the limits of the comparitively smaller and lower-resolution sensor. And at around £1500, the Olympus E-5 current price is unlikely to persuade too many users. The price seems steep compared to competition: the price of Nikon D300s is around £1,035 and the Canon 7D price is around £1,150.
