5 of The Best Ways to Make Money with Your Blog

5 Ways to Make Money with Your Blog

More people than ever are starting a blog. Some people blog throughout their online MSHI degree. Many new mothers start blogs to catalogue their journey through parenthood, and businesses start blogs to help drive traffic and sales. Many blogs start off as hobbies or experiments. However, blogging can be a fantastic way to earn money. While some people use their blog to make a little extra spending money, others, those that are willing to put in a lot of time and effort, can earn a full-time living as a professional blogger. If you are considering monetizing your blog, here are five of the best ways to do it.

Advertising

Advertising might not make you a huge amount of money, but by placing relevant adverts in the right places, you could earn steadily. Sign up to google AdSense to get started. There are a few things to remember. Firstly, adverts are annoying. So, don’t overdo it. No one wants to see more advertising than content when they’re trying to read something. Secondly, AdSense lets you choose to block some types of adverts, but remember, not everyone sees the same. Google bases the adverts it shows on not just your site content, but also the viewer’s web history. So, just because you see something you don’t want on your site, it doesn’t mean everyone else sees the same. It’s best to block as little as possible, so your viewers can always see something that interests them, even if it doesn’t interest you.

Affiliate Marketing

Amazon’s affiliate program is probably the best place to start if you are interested in affiliate marketing. This allows you to place links to relevant Amazon products or pages in your content. If someone spends money on Amazon from a link on your page, you will earn a percentage of what they spend.

Guest Posting

Many blogs will pay you to write for them, and allow you to link back to your own site. The pay often isn’t great, but the exposure is excellent. You probably won’t want to do this too often, as it’s quite time consuming, and that time could be spent working on your own site.

Sponsored Posts

Writing sponsored posts means writing on behalf of a company or brand. With influencer marketing at an all-time high, more brands are considering this, and it’s an excellent time to get involved. The company will typically send you a product or offer you a free day out, so you can review it. You will sometimes receive a payment on top of the free product.

Host a Members Area

A members’ only area offers you a way to make cash, and build your subscribers list. Charge people a small membership fee, and then offer them exclusive content. If you choose this route, be sure to offer something worth the fee. If you blog about your online MSHI program, offer more information than they could find anywhere else. This could include interviews with the staff at the University of Cincinnati amongst other things.

Remember, whatever happens, blogging is meant to be fun. Write about what you enjoy and feel passionate about and your blog will be more successful. Don’t stress about your stats and earnings; it will come if you stick with it.
