Apple’s iPhone 5 is facing some stiff competition from a vast array of competitors. In fact, the competition today is much more challenging than when the iPhone was originally released. Comparing the specifications of the iPhone 5 with some of its major competitors can give consumers and idea about what the top mobile phones offer.
HTC’s comparable phone would be the HTC One X. When looking at the screen size, it is a bit larger measuring in at 4.7 inches. The iPhone 5, while having the largest screen of any iPhone model to date has a screen size of 4 inches. The resolutions on these two phones also vary. Apple’s screen resolution is 1136 x 640 with the HTC One X having a resolution of 1280 x 720.
The iPhone 5 was designed to feel very lightweight which it is as it weighs in at 3.9 ounces. The HTC One X tips the scales slightly more with a weight of 4.5 ounces. The Apple iPhone 5 does offer more choices for storage than the HTC One X. Owners of the iPhone 5 can opt for 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB. The HTC One X only offers 32 GB. Both phones do not come with a card slot built in to expand storage. This aspect of comparison makes the iPhone 5 a better choice since more overall storage can be obtained. It also allows for smaller options for users who simply do not need a lot of storage space.
The operating systems are of course different between these two devices. Apple’s iPhone 5 uses their new iOS 6. This is the first iPhone model to have the new and updated operating system. The HTC One X comes with the Android operating system. It still uses the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android. It does not come with the last version of Android, Jelly Bean.
