A Photography WordPress Theme
ePhoto was created for those looking to turn their blog into a photo gallery. This is a photography theme, but can certainly be used to showcase other digital imagery as well. While the main content of the theme is image based, this theme gives you the ability to create a separate blog page where your normal blog posts can be integrated alongside your photos.

ePhoto – Premium WordPress Theme for 7/03 – MAD TOMATO great article thank you.
Having issues with the images on the front page they wont apear. I tried to post with a image nothing came up. Can someone give me a tutorial on how to place images on the root please. email: medina.mitchell@gmail.com Thanks.
The ePhoto Wodrpress theme utilizes a script called TimThumb to automatically resize images. Whenever you make a new post you will need to add a custom field. Scroll down below the text editor and click on the “custom fields” link. In the “Name” section, input “Thumbnail” (this is case sensitive). In the “Value” area, input the url to your thumbnail image. Your image will automatically be resized and cropped. The image must be hosted on your domain.
Important Note: You must CHMOD the “cache” folder located in the ePhoto directory to 777 for this script to work. You can CHMOD (change the permissions) of a file using your favorite FTP program. If you are confused, try following this tutorial. Of course instead of CHMODing the template folder (as in the tutorial) you would CHMOD the “cache” folder found within your theme’s directory.
hi i have like do but its not work pleas help me what should i do
Your site seems to be working fine. What’s the problem?
Hey there! Got the image to show up on the inside pages (on the posts) however it does not show up on the home page! any other setting to get this done? Thanks in advance!
Think this has something to do with “Featured” posts. Any idea how to make a post a featured post???
Got it!
If you use this theme you will need to have a featured article on your homepage. These featured articles are pulled from a category within your blog. First, you need to make a category called “Featured Articles” You must spell it correctly in order for it to work. (case sensitive!) Once you have created to category, simply add posts to it when you want them to show up as your featured article. Only one featured article is displayed at a time. Also make sure not to edit the category slug, you need to use the default “featured-articles”
Sam, but what if i dont want Featured Articles category to be shown in Browse by Category button? Thanx!
Oh, man, sorry, i found the solution :)

Be sure to upload and activate the lightbox plugin.
This is one of the best yet.
Love this theme :) thanks for posting it.
hi, i still got problems with ephoto theme.. i followed all the instructions and i can only see the images when i click on thumbnail.. please visit http://www.cristinagallery.co.cc and see what im talking about. im waiting for an answer…. thanks
Are the images hosted on your domain?
The timthumb script requires that all images being resized be hosted on the same domain as your WordPress blog. This is a security measure put in place by the author. If you are trying to use images from an outside sources it will not work.
Have you created your custom field correctly?
Make sure to read the readme file that came in your theme’s ZIP file and follow the thumbnail custom field creation instructions. In most cases you will need to create a custom field with a Name/Key of “Thumbnail” (this is case sensitive) and a Value of your image URL.
I use freehosting , and i use my domain name. Is it problem..?
Is it mean outsource for photos.
plz help me..
and send me an email

WordPress.com (free hosted blogs) does not permit uploading themes or plugins. If you want to use this theme, you must have your own hosting and use WordPress.org. WordPress.org is free software. You can install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database.
nothing found there !!!
hello i am trying to understand how i post videos i followed the instructions but nothing happen, am i missing something, i got to say the instructions aren’t accurate enough (?)
if someone has a clue please do let me know! Thanks
Could you give us some specifics?…
I have noticed that vertical images will not display properly in the featured section of the site (in the slider on the home page or the single photo page).the display area 364px by 655px.
The problem is vertical images will repeat on the x axis. And if you resize a vertical image to 655 width the height will be 983.
DOES Anyone have a SOLUTION!
I have lots of verticals I need to post.
I am on the same boat buddy , I guss we have to put little more work with the vertical pics, we can probaby have two of the verticals togather to fill in that space.
the usual 364px by 655 px cna be divided by two pics 364px by 327px with 1px margin or line between them. ( 327+327+1= 655).
Hi MadTom
I have a problem, maybe you could help me with, my pictures still do not show up on the home page, i have CHMOD’d the folder, added custom field and featured articles, all i get is a little thumbnail icon, i have also hosted the pictures on our domain. Also the large pics on the home page do not show up.
Do you have a solution?

Kind Regards,

@Sean Halse:
i have checked a thumbnail from your site:
you add thumbnail with value “http://connectvisions.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/SDC10946.JPG” i think it ‘s a reason for your problem,
you should change thumbnail value “connectvisions.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/SDC10946.JPG”
and i check with a full url like this:
and i got 500 Internal error, so to avoid 500 internal error you should chmod these folder to 755: wp-content,uploads,2009,10
but this isn’t a good solution, i think you should upload your photo separate out your WordPress folder, you can make a folder “Photo” in your main folder domain, upload your photo in it. and set thumbnail value “Photo/yourphoto.jpg” or “connectvisions.co.uk/Photo/yourphoto.jpg”
Don’t forgot chmod your Cache folder.
Hope it working for you

Hi there,
This is great! One question though. Ive seen in the demo that lightbox shows only the images that a certain page (home, category, archive) has, and only shows one in post. This is 100% correct. But what im getting is whnever lightbox shows up, i have all images available to see… I notice the directory system in demo isnt wpcontent/uploads, and i dont know if it has something to do with it, but i simply cant make it work the same way. Any ideas? Thanks
Very very helpful. Thanks a lot for the effort. You guys rock. \m/_

Hi san! try this tips: https://madtomatoes.com/ephoto-premium-wordpress-theme-for-703/comment-page-1/#comment-12562
Any URL we could look into?
i love photo blogs, there is a saying that a picture speaks a thousand words and this saying is also true for blogs that mostly displays photos.
Hi
I have the same problem as MADAIL asked.
The Lightbox is showing unusual behavior.
It shows all the images on the home, that is perfect but on the categories, it either shows all the images or at times unusual number of images, say i have 20 images in that category and it will show 16 or whatever.
I have been trying to debug it since a week, discarding all the plugins and fresh start, but same thing.
May be my ephoto theme is corrupted and now i am downloading it from another source and lets see, what happens.
If anyone had this issue and solved it, please tell me the solution.
I was pasting full link in the Thumbnail field, with http:// , dont know if this has caused it. Please help me
Problem Solved
I downloaded the theme from some free site, and the theme was old and messed up.
I got the latest one from elegantthemes
and it has no problems of Lightbox that i mentioned above.
The latest theme has very cool configuration panel ..
I am happy to have found a solution …
Anyone having the same problem
Get the latest version of the theme ..
Glad you figured it out. Btw, your site is cool. Great photography.
ive just uploaded this theme and ive got the message ‘missing style sheet’ can anyone help? i havent got a clue where to find it!

When/Where did the message ‘missing style sheet’ appeared?…
Try downloading a new copy of the theme and upload the theme folder (overwrite the existing files) to the themes directory.
